Adaptation and extraordinary maintenance/renewal projects on existing works include the adaptation of the Barletta station’s accessibility to functional standards, with particular attention to people with disabilities and reduced mobility (PRM).
The construction works will concern:
- Vertical connection systems between the underpass and the platforms above, currently consisting only of flights of stairs arranged on both sides of the underpass on each platform;
- This will be achieved through the provision of obstacle-free routes, the installation of tactile routes and tactile safety signs.
The tactile paths already in place, as well as the station signs, will also be reorganised in a coherent and functional manner to facilitate the transit of travellers through the station.
With a view to improving the usability and comfort of the station areas, also in terms of sustainability, there are also plans to upgrade/adapt the utilities and information systems, install new lighting systems for energy efficiency with new LED technology lighting bodies, and built a water collection system.
